Connect Stripe and enable purchases on my site

Your artworks have a price, but nobody can pay for them by card yet. Connect a Stripe account, once and for all, then enable purchases on your site: the “Acquire” button appears on every artwork for sale, and the money lands in your bank account.

Open “Online payments” In your artist space.
The whole task on video, from the Stripe account to the “Acquire” button.

Before you start

Screen 1 · Sales

In the menu, open Sales, then the Payment links tab. On the Stripe not configured banner, click Connect Stripe. On a phone, the tab is the bank card icon, the third one.

The Sales screen, Payment links tab: the Stripe not configured banner and its Connect Stripe button.

Screen 2 · Online payments

Click Connect with Stripe. You move to Stripe's website, which guides you: your identity, your activity, then the IBAN of the account the money will be paid to. MycreArt never sees your banking details.

The Online payments page before connecting: “Accept card payments for your sales” and the Connect with Stripe button.

At the end, Stripe brings you back to this page. It shows Account active, with Payments enabled and Payouts enabled: your account is connected. If it shows Verification in progress, Stripe is still checking your documents: come back a little later and click Refresh.

The Online payments page once the account is connected: Account active, Payments enabled, Payouts enabled, the Refresh link and the Access my Stripe dashboard button.

Screen 3 · Pro Site

In the menu, open Pro Site, then the Sales card.

The Pro Site page: below the site preview, the Sales and Settings cards.

Screen 4 · Sales

In Terms of sale, read the template through and adapt it to your situation: you are the seller. At the very bottom of the block, tick I confirm that I have reviewed and validated these terms of sale and accept responsibility for them.

The Sales page of the Pro Site: the Delivery row, then the Terms of sale block, to review and validate.

At the very bottom of the block, the box to tick:

The bottom of the Terms of sale block: the return conditions, then the box “I confirm that I have reviewed and validated these terms of sale”.

Under Online payment, read Before selling online, tick I have reviewed this information about online sales, then turn on the Direct purchase switch.

The Direct purchase block, inactive: the switch on the right, and the Before selling online box with its tick box.

At the bottom of the page, click Save.

The Direct purchase block with the switch on and the box ticked, and the bottom bar with View my site and Save.

If saving is refused, the page says what is missing: terms of sale to validate, or a delivery method to set up.

Done

The Direct purchase row shows Active: visitors can buy online. On your site, every artwork for sale with a price now carries the Acquire — secure payment button. The buyer pays by card on a secure Stripe page: the artwork becomes Sold, the sale is recorded on its own in Sales and you are notified by e-mail. Stripe then pays the money into your bank account.

The Direct purchase block after saving: “Active: visitors can buy online”.

What your visitor sees, on the page of an artwork for sale:

An artwork page on the artist's site: its price, the delivery, the total, and the Acquire — secure payment button.

What if…

Stripe still needs something?

The Online payments page says so: Verification in progress or Account restricted. Click Access my Stripe dashboard: Stripe tells you which information or document is missing. Once provided, come back to the page and click Refresh.

You left Stripe before the end?

Nothing is lost. The Online payments page shows Setup in progress: click Resume configuration, Stripe picks up where you stopped.

The switch stays gray?

The reason is written right next to it. Connect Stripe to enable it: the Stripe account is not active yet, go back to step 1. Verify your email to enable it: click Resend email, then the link received by e-mail.

No buy button on your site?

Stop after step 3. The Stripe account is enough for two other tasks: Get paid by card with a link or a QR code and Send a sale proposal, paid by card. The Direct purchase switch can be turned on and off whenever you like.

What are the fees?

Stripe charges successful payments according to its current pricing. The amount depends on the card type and the buyer's country. There is 0% MycreArt commission.

When do I get paid?

Payouts are handled by Stripe. Allow about 7 days for the first payout, then a few business days depending on your Stripe account and bank.
