How to number your artworks
One unique number per work, set once and for all: it is the backbone of an inventory — and the foundation of a future catalogue raisonné.
MycreArt numbers for you
Every new work automatically receives a permanent number in the initials-sequence format — for example CD-0008. The counter belongs to your inventory and does not restart each year.
Or keep your own
The field stays free: replace the proposed number with your own logic — by technique (P- for painting, S- for sculpture), by series, or the continuation of your studio ledger. The only constraint: two works cannot carry the same number.
Three rules that never change
A number is never reused, even if the work is destroyed or sold. It appears on the work itself — that is what the back label is for — and on all its documents. And a simple system kept for ten years beats a perfect one abandoned after six months.

What an inventory prepares, without you thinking about it
Three situations where the record kept as you go makes all the difference.
Insurance and damage
Water damage in the studio, breakage in transit: the insurer asks for proof of what existed and its value. A dated record with photos, dimensions and insurance value is exactly that file — impossible to rebuild after the fact.
Estate and catalogue raisonné
The scholarly inventory of a life's work — the catalogue raisonné — is built on the studio's archives. Every record you keep today is an entry in it: no one will have to reconstruct thirty years of creation from memory.
Theft, loan or dispute
A stolen work, a loan that drags on, a disagreement over a consigned piece: inventory number, photos and an up-to-date location make a file ready for the report or the discussion — instead of recollections.

When you add an image, MycreArt suggests a first reading: category, technique, orientation, dominant colours. It is a suggestion to review and correct — you keep control of every field.
No. A record fills in at your own pace: start with a title and a photo, add dimensions, technique or price later. The inventory follows the progress of your work.
You decide work by work. A record is private by default; you then choose to show it in the MycreArt gallery, on your site, or keep it offline.
Yes — into collections (series, periods, themes) and PDF catalogues. The same work can belong to several sets without being duplicated.
Yes. Your inventory is yours: you can export it to keep it, hand it to a gallery, or back it up outside MycreArt.
Automatically, in the initials-sequence format (for example CD-0008) as soon as the record is created. The counter is permanent and belongs to the artist. The field stays editable: if you already have your own system, enter your numbers — MycreArt only checks that they remain unique. The number is then carried onto your exhibition labels, back labels, certificates and consignment slips.
It goes to the trash, where its complete record can be restored for 90 days before permanent deletion. Its inventory number is not automatically reassigned — in keeping with the rule: a number is never reused.
